The Blinn College women's soccer team moved one step closer to clinching the Region 14 South division with a 2-1 victory over Texas Southmost on Tuesday in Brownsville, Texas.
The Buccaneers scored once in each half to improve to 7-4-1 overall and 6-3-1 in region play.
"We played poorly but still found a way to win, and you'll take that over the alternative option," Blinn head coach Alexandria Jackson said. "We need to change our mentality quickly in order to lock down the South. We need to get back to our style of football."
Blinn can clinch the South with a victory or tie in Thursday's region road matchup against Louisiana State University-Eunice.
