The Blinn College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Region 14 road match to Angelina College on Friday in Lufkin, Texas.
The Buccaneers trailed 1-0 at halftime before Angelina added an insurance goal in the second half.
Blinn fell to 7-4-2 overall and 3-3-2 in Region 14 play.
"We were yards off all game and didn't deal with what was thrown at us. It was a poor performance from start to finish," Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. "1-0 flattered us at halftime, and we didn't lay a glove on them. The Tyler game notwithstanding, this has to be the fewest opportunities we've created in a game this season. We picked a bad time to not turn up, and we need a big response in our next game."
The Bucs finished with 10 shots, including five on goal, and four corner kicks. The Roadrunners recorded 12 shots, eight on goal, and three corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper Samir Bristol recorded six saves in 90 minutes for Blinn. He absorbed the loss in goal and moved to 6-2-1 on the season.
The Bucs return to the pitch to face region foe Texas Southmost College at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Brownsville, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
