Blinn College women's golf finished third at the Buccaneer Fall Invitational on Tuesday at the Brenham Country Club in Brenham, Texas.
The Buccaneers posted team rounds of 325 and 316 against a six-team field that included NJCAA No. 1 New Mexico Junior College and No. 8 Odessa College.
New Mexico won the team title at 42-over par.
The 11th-ranked Bucs were led by freshman Ran Yamashita, who tied for seventh individually with rounds of 82 and 77. Sophomore Arianna Rodriguez finished 10th at 160 (81-79), while freshman Ella Donovan placed 11th at 161 (79-82). Freshman Mattie Purghan (82-81) and sophomore Zoe Nobile rounded out Blinn's top five.
"Brenham Country Club played just as we expected – tough," said golf coach Gary Belt. "It was a real challenge for everyone.
"Coach (Michael) Fluty and I are proud of the way the ladies rebounded after the first round. The team's focus, ball striking, and scoring was much better."
The Buccaneers close out the fall playing the Tiger Classic at Clear Creek Golf Club hosted by Texas Southern University on Sunday and Monday in Houston.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
