The Blinn College men's soccer team shut out Louisiana State University-Eunice 3-0 in a Region 14 matchup Friday at Rankin Field in Brenham, Texas.
The Bucs jumped to 6-3-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the Region 14 South Division.
"We've played better this season and lost, but soccer is a funny old game," Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. "While it wasn't a great performance, it was definitely a great result. We needed a response to our defeat Tuesday, and we got one. We needed a result, and we got one. Multiple goals and a clean sheet is a bonus."
Blinn doubled its lead just five minutes into the second half when sophomore forward Kayde Gielinck scored off assists from freshman forward Vukasin Ivanovic and Imeneo in the 47th minute.
Freshman defender Lobokola Enduki capped the scoring in the 60th minute, scoring directly from a corner kick for an Olimpico goal.
Blinn outshot LSUE 8-7, including a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Bucs also held an 8-6 cushion in corner kicks.
The victory produced several milestones for the Bucs.
Sophomore goalkeeper Samir Bristol made three saves and improved to 5-1-1 this season. In doing so, he recorded his seventh career shutout and moved into a tie with former Buc Connor Vela for third all-time in program history.
Imeneo recorded the 35th multi-assist game in program history and the first by a Buccaneer against LSUE. The sophomore also became the 44th player in program history to record at least five assists in a season.
Garcia became the 22nd player in program history to record at least two game-winning goals in a single season, while Ivanovic moved into sole possession of ninth place all-time in Blinn men's soccer history with 23 points this season (10 goals and three assists).
The Bucs return to the pitch for a non-region home matchup against Hill College at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Rankin Field.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 53 national championships since 1987.
