NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Texas A&M safety Marcus Ratcliffe has been named to the Walter Camp Preseason FBS All-America Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
The honor marks Ratcliffe's second preseason All-America recognition, as he was also selected to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-America Second Team earlier this month.
Ratcliffe returns for his third season in Aggieland after transferring from San Diego State, including his second season as the Aggies' starting safety. In 38 career games (35 starts), he has totaled 163 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, four pass breakups, one forced fumble, four quarterback hurries and one blocked kick. Across 2,186 career snaps, Ratcliffe has recorded three-plus tackles in 30 games and five-plus tackles in 18 contests, including a career-high eight tackles on three occasions against Texas (2024), Notre Dame (2025) and Mississippi State (2025).
In 2025, Ratcliffe ranked second on the team and seventh among SEC safeties with 65 tackles, while adding 3.0 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and two quarterback hurries in 13 games. He recorded three-plus tackles in 11 contests and five-plus tackles eight times during the season.
The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Chula Vista, Calif., native posted an 80.3 grade from Pro Football Focus, ranking sixth among SEC safeties.
