WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal authorities are investigating a massive counterfeit N95 mask operation in which fake 3M masks were sold in at least five states to hospitals, medical facilities and government agencies. The foreign-made knockoffs are becoming increasingly difficult to spot and could put health care workers at grave risk for the coronavirus.

A Bryan man has been arrested in connection to fires at multiple Northgate businesses earlier this month, officials said.

You've by now likely heard that the impeachment of President Donald Trump echoes a criminal trial, with the impeachment by the House serving as a sort of indictment then evaluated during a trial in the Senate. It's a useful but imperfect analogy, ignoring, among other things, that the Senate trial will be decided by a jury not of Trump's peers but his allies, at least in sufficient numbers to almost certainly prevent his actual conviction by two-thirds of the body. You've seen movies in which there's one obstinate juror who blocks conviction, perhaps someone enticed to that obstinacy by the accused. In the Senate, there are a few dozen such individuals.
