December 26, 1932 – July 23, 2014

William H. “Bill” Adams, 81, of Bryan entered into rest on July 23, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 25, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday at First Baptist Church in Bryan. The interment will follow at Kurten Cemetery with full military honors.

Bill was born December 26, 1932 in Texarkana, Arkansas, the son of Esther Vera (Brown) Adams and William Benjamin Adams, Jr. Bill enlisted in the Air Force in 1950 and served during the Korean War. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryan, The Billy Graham Telephone Ministry @ the Bridge, The Gideons, the Commemorative Air Force – Member of the Devil Dog Squadron with the B-25 since 1991, active member of the American Legion, Earl Graham, Post 159 including the Honor Guard, Brazos Valley Veteran’s Memorial, Coalition of Brazos Valley Veteran Organization (CBVVO), City of Kurten and Crime Stoppers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Esther Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Adams of Bryan; daughter, Robyn Adams of Bryan; step-sons, Nathaniel & Jamie Bear of Angel Fire, NM, Benjamin & Janice Bear of Springfield, VA, and Aaron Bear of Bryan; sisters, Ruby Simmons of Bentonville, AR, and Meri Smith of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Emily Gatlin-Bear, Piper Bear, Felix Bear, Jameson Bear, and Emberlynn Bear; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers Bill requests donations be made to American Legion Post 159 of Bryan, TX, The Devil Dog Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force in Georgetown, TX, or The Gideons Camp of Bryan, TX.
