TEMPE, Ariz. -- A prosecutor cited statements by the mother of a missing Arizona baby that she killed her son, put his body in a diaper bag and threw him in a trash bin in asking a judge to set to bail at $1.1 million.

Police in the Phoenix suburb of Tempe say they have indications that 8-month-old Gabriel Johnson is alive. But prosecutor Belle Whitney said at a court hearing Sunday that 23-year-old Elizabeth Johnson has done nothing to help police find her baby.

She cited Johnson's phone conversation with the boy's father after she had sent him a text message saying she had killed their son.

Gabriel was last seen in San Antonio, Texas, with Johnson last month. Johnson was arrested Dec. 30 in Florida and returned to Arizona to face kidnapping and child abuse charges.

Johnson said everything Whitney told the court was "completely false."
