Youth leaders give $12,000 in funds

The United Way of the Brazos Valley's Youth Leadership Cabinet recently presented checks that totaled $12,000 to 13 local agencies and programs.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley, 2-1-1 Texas, Brazos Food Bank, Community of Promise Youth Summit, Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Brazos Valley, the Prenatal Clinic, KAMU's Ready to Lead in Literacy, Voices for Children and Success By 6 each received $1,000.

The Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center received $900, Family Outreach of Bryan-College Station received $600, Scotty's House received $650 and Twin City Mission was given $850.

Applications for the funds were submitted by local agencies and reviewed by the cabinet, comprised of nine students from Bryan High School and eight students from A&M Consolidated High School.
