A scholarship fund for the Bryan Soccer Club has been established in memory of Alexis Lipsey, a 6-year-old Bryan girl who died in December.

Alexis loved sports and had played for two seasons with the Wild Violets soccer team. She died Dec. 13. The Lipsey family had already paid registration for their daughter to play soccer with the club this spring. They offered the registration fee to be used as a scholarship, and the club, in turn, decided to create a larger fund to be used for children who cannot afford to play soccer.

Donations to the Alexis Lipsey Memorial Scholarship Fund can be mailed to the Bryan Soccer Club, P.O. Box 3522, Bryan, Texas 77805.

For more information, call Jim Hiney, president of the Bryan Soccer Club, at 219-1545.
