Registration began this week for the annual Family Campout at Austin's Colony Park.
The city of Bryan's campout begins at 3 p.m. April 21 behind Harvey Mitchell Elementary School on Austin's Colony Parkway. Early registration lasts through April 20, with tickets costing $5 for kids and $7 for adults.
Day-of registration is $7 for kids and $10 for adults. Four-person tents can be rented for $13, and six-person tents will be available for $20.
City officials are encouraging families to join for an evening under the stars, roasting hot dogs and s'mores, playing games, making crafts and telling campfire stories. The movie Yogi Bear will be shown.
Breakfast and hot coffee will be served in the morning before everyone leaves at 9 a.m.
To register for the event, download the registration form at http://1.usa.gov/wrKcQv, fill out the document, and turn it in at the Parks and Recreation Office at 1309 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., or at the Bryan Aquatic Center at 3101 Oak Ridge Drive.
