Police searching for man accused of attacking woman

The Grimes County Sheriff's Office and Grimes County Crime Stoppers are seeking information on a man who allegedly assaulted a woman during a home invasion at about 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 29 in Anderson.

According to Grimes County Crime Stoppers, after hearing a knock, a woman opened the door and was attacked by a man who forced his way into the residence in the 300 block of Houston Street. The woman described the attacker as a black male with a dark complexion and a medium build, standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall. At the time, she said the attacker was wearing a dark blue or black high school letterman's jacket, which had either yellow or orange stripes on the end of the sleeves, and black shorts.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case. Contact Grimes County Crime Stoppers at 936-873-2000.
