A Bryan man was in police custody Thursday on a felony warrant, and his girlfriend was jailed on charges of harboring a felon, authorities said.

Alan Beene, 41, was wanted on a parole violation warrant and a theft by check charge, according to an officer's affidavit. Brazos County deputy constables went to Beene's home in the 300 block of West Duncan Street on Tuesday and were greeted by 46-year-old Flora Juarez, who denied that there was anyone else in the house, police said.

The deputies searched the home and found Beene hiding between a bed and a wall. Beene dove through a window, ran through the back yard and climbed over a fence, court documents state. He was later caught and taken into custody.

A search of the house revealed drug paraphernalia and a bag of cocaine, officers said.

Juarez was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and hindering the apprehension or prosecution of a known felon. She was being held Thursday at Brazos County Jail on $14,000 bond. Beene was charged with possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest. He was being held Thursday without bond.
