A new state program is available for residents looking to dispose of used computer equipment.

The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality recently passed The Computer Equipment Recycling Program, which requires computer manufacturers to offer consumers ways to recycle their products.

Manufacturers can arrange to have the equipment picked up year-round at the consumers' homes at no cost to the consumer.

For a list of manufacturers and their contact information, visit www.keepbrazosbeautiful.org. For more information about the program, call Amy Reed at 775-3569.
