A 29-year-old Bryan woman was in jail Sunday for the third time this month after hitting her 14-year-old son with a belt, authorities said.
Police said they were called to Bryant Street about 12:40 p.m. Saturday by a witness who said a woman was chasing and beating a child with a belt.
According to police reports, the boy's uncle told police she had him hold the boy while she hit him with the belt as punishment for sneaking out of the house.
Officers said the teen had welts on his arms, back, waist and sides.
The woman was charged with injury to a child. She was being held in the Brazos County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
The woman was arrested July 17 on a public intoxication charge and again on July 25 on a charge of violating a noise ordinance.
