Bryan police were searching Monday for a woman whom officers said may have been kidnapped by her boyfriend.

Police said 35-year-old Brenda Peveto was dragged out of a residence on 505 Wayside Drive in Bryan and into the street just before 6 p.m. Sunday, and has been missing ever since. They have not been able to locate the boyfriend and do not yet know his identity.

Peveto and her boyfriend were visiting friends when the boyfriend pulled out a knife and threatened her with it, according to a police report.

The friends were able to get the knife away from the boyfriend, but soon after he used force to make Peveto leave the house, authorities said. Several officers and canines searched for Peveto on Sunday and Monday, but have not come up with any leads, police said.

She is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall with blonde hair and green eyes.

Peveto has several arrests on her record, including for possession of a dangerous drug and prostitution in 2008.

Police are asking for anyone who knows the whereabouts of Peveto and her boyfriend to call 209-5301.
