Parents flock to Aggieland

You might notice an abundance of Aggie Mom and Aggie Dad bumper stickers in Aggieland on Saturday.

Texas A&M Parents Weekend includes events all over the Bryan-College Station area: The Maroon & White Game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kyle Field, the Aggie Moms' Boutique at Duncan Dining Hall through 5 p.m. Saturday and a Singing Cadets Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Rudder Auditorium.

* The Holistic Garden on Texas A&M's campus will host a plant sale and open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It will include tours and the sale of vegetable, landscape, patio and house plants.

* With one small instrument, Robert Dick can fill a room with music.

The renowned flutist and composer will perform Tuesday in Rudder Theatre at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $10, and student tickets are $5. Tickets are available from the MSC Box Office.

* The Texas A&M Cyber Defense Team recently placed second at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition against nine regional champion teams.

* More than 3,940 Aggies are now the proud owners of Aggie Rings, and one of those is this columnist. Friday's Aggie Ring Day marked the largest Ring Day in the history of Texas A&M.
