Five A&M Consolidated High School band students recently received superior ratings for their performance at the Texas UIL Band Solo and Ensemble contest in Austin. The students were Nick Farmer, horn player; Patrick Lenz, alto sax player; Alex Pappas, tenor sax player; Dahlia Rohm, flutist and Eugene Ryoo, alto sax player. The superior rating is the highest possible rating given to individual students.
Of these five students, Lenz and Rohm were selected for the "Outstanding Soloist" awards.
To qualify for the state contest, students were required to earn a superior rating at their respective regional competition.
