Restaurant's bourbon sauce can be replicated

Dear Lisa: Can you tell me how to make the bourbon sauce that Cheddars puts on its grilled salmon? Thank you so much -- Janet

Dear Janet: I had never enjoyed this particular dish, so I made a trip to the restaurant and tried it.


Since the exact recipe is a proprietary secret, I experimented in my kitchen until I came up with a glaze that should come pretty close to what you're looking for. (Someone owes me for dinner plus tip. And drinks!)


* What you'll need:

2 tablespoons molasses

2 tablespoons teriyaki marinade

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon minced onion

1/4 teaspoon minced garlic

1/4 teaspoon bourbon

Dash of cayenne pepper

* How to do it:

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and heat briefly. This will make about 1/4 cup, enough to glaze 1/2 pound salmon.
