William R. “Bill” Frey

Jan. 22, 1930 — Oct. 5, 2003

WASHINGTON, Texas — Graveside services for William R. “Bill” Frey, 73, of Washington are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Brookside Memorial Park on Lauter Road in Houston.

Elder Ray Hamilton of First Pentecostal Church in Brenham will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 5 to 9 p.m., at Nobles Funeral Chapel in Navasota.

Mr. Frey died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Houston and was a retired insulator. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Local Union No. 22. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Frey.

Survivors include a son, William R. Frey Jr. of Brenham; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bud Wilson of Washington; a brother, Carol Frey of Thornton; a brother-in-law, W.B. Brown and his wife, Mary, of Alvin; a sister-in-law, Frances Brown of Santa Fe, Texas; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joshua Rios

May 24, 1976 — Oct. 4, 2003

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Services for Joshua Rios, 27, of Akron, Ohio, and formerly of Bryan, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Walton-Schrader Funeral Home in Alliance, Ohio.

Mr. Rios died Saturday in Akron as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Bryan.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Rios; a daughter, Elizabeth Mae Rios; a mother, Ella McNeilan; four brothers and a sister-in-law, Matthew and Chenita Rios, Simon Rios, Eli Rios and Reuben Rios, all of Ohio; a sister, Christina Rios of Bryan; a grandmother, Esperanza Rios of Bryan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Rosalee Webb

Aug. 17, 1924 — Oct. 6, 2003

HEARNE — Graveside services for Rosalee Webb, 79, of Hearne are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne.

The Rev. Charles Hein will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne.

Mrs. Webb died Monday.

She was born in New Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Seaborn Webb.

Survivors include two sons, Jake Webb of Elliott and Garrell Webb of Farmville, Va.; two sisters, Helen Smith of Houston and Mary Frances Georg of Seguin; a grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.

Alva Lowren Jinks

Nov. 24, 1912 — Oct. 6, 2003

Services for Alva Lowren Jinks, 90, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Chapel.

The Rev. Randy Beele of Cooks Point Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Southpark Cemetery in Pearland.

Miss Jinks died Monday at Sherwood Health Care.

She was born in Rosebud and lived in Caldwell for 20 years before moving to Bryan.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Mann of Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys Adelle Ward

May 3, 1914 — Oct. 6, 2003

ROCKDALE — Services for Gladys Adelle Ward, 89, of Somerville are set for 10 a.m. Friday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

The Rev. Calvin Springer of Rockdale Full Gospel Church will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ward died Monday at Burleson St. Joseph Manor nursing home in Caldwell.

She was born in Milam County and was a supervisor with the public school food service. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church near Milano. Mrs. Ward lived in the Birch Creek Forest and was a member of the Birch Creek Forest Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Ward.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Art and Sheila Ward of Somerville, Gerald and Marva Ward of San Marcos and Jim and Dee Ward of Navasota; a brother, Wilson Brannon of Rockdale; a sister, Dot Brademan of Giddings; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Bracell Barrett

Jan. 21, 1919 — Oct. 7, 2003

MADISONVILLE — Services for Bracell Barrett, also known as Pat B. Barrett, 84, of Houston are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Madisonville.

The Rev. Dick White will officiate. Burial be in Madisonville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston and from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at J.M. Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Mr. Barrett died Tuesday in Houston.

Survivors include his wife, Mima Barrett; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark Thompson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Dianne Barrett-Cameron and Damon and Stephanie Barrett; six grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Spartacus Caldwell

April 9, 1962 — Oct. 7, 2003

NACOGDOCHES — Services for Spartacus Caldwell, 41, of Nacogdoches, Texas, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ in Nacogdoches.

Elder Al L. Shaw of Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Pinegrove Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at O. Sadler Chapel in Nacogdoches. Arrangements are under the direction of Sadler Funeral Service.

Mr. Caldwell died Tuesday in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Nacogdoches was a communications supervisor and operator for the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Nacogdoches Police Department and the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department. He also worked as a reporter for WTAW radio in Bryan and owned Always Your Service, a delivery service in Bryan. He was a member of Lily of the Valley COGIC in Bryan.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Caldwell of Bryan; his mother, Mary E. Caldwell-Hollis of Nacogdoches; his father, Willie T. Caldwell Jr. of Nacogdoches; a sister, MeLlessya Caldwell of Jasper, Texas; a brother, Boris S. Caldwell of Nacogdoches; and a stepbrother, Gene Morrow of Arlington, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Group of Nacogdoches or Hospice of Deep East Texas.
