Nominations sought for Impact Awards

Eagle Staff Report

The city of Bryan is accepting nominations for the 2004 Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award to honor groups and people who have contributed to the growth of the city’s downtown area.

Nominations are due Oct. 15. They can be submitted online by visiting or by picking up a nomination form at downtown businesses, the Municipal Building or at First National Bank in Bryan.

Anyone who has worked to bring a program or lobbied to see a capital improvement in downtown is eligible for the award. Mayor Ernie Wentrcek will announce the award recipient at the Bryan Volunteer Reception in December.

As part of the downtown award, which was created in 2000, $500 will be donated to The Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley in the award winner’s name.
