Lady Vikings finish 7th at golf regionals

WACO - The Bryan High girls golf team improved 15 strokes on its first round but remained in seventh place at the Class 5A Region II girls golf tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.

Bryan totaled 368-353-721 on the 5,716-yard, par-72 course.

Kyndal Johnson led the way for the Lady Vikings with an 85-84-169, good for 24th. She was followed by Ashley McCarley, 93-90-183; Kasey Boykin, 95-89-184; Abby Hodges, 99-90-189; and Kelsey Dickson, 95-101-196.

The Woodlands won the tournament with a 305-316-621 and will be joined at the state tournament by Austin Westlake, which had rounds of 338 and 320 for a 658 team total.

Daphne Vines of Austin Westlake was the individual medalist with a 75-73-148.
