Girl Scout rallies set for September

Bryan-College Station area girls who are interested in joining the Girl Scouts of America can do so by attending one of 20 rallies scheduled this month.

Girls ages 5 to 17 are eligible to join. Organizers say the Girl Scouts program is designed to help girls build character, strong values and a social conscience.

The rallies are planned at various area schools during the next two weeks. All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the schools’ cafeterias.

• Tuesday — Bowen, Fannin and Sam Houston elementary schools in Bryan; Pebble Creek, South Knoll and Southwood Valley elementary schools and Oakwood Intermediate School in College Station.

• Thursday — College Hills and Rock Prairie elementary schools in College Station; Bonham, Henderson and Milam elementary schools and St. Joseph Catholic School in Bryan.

• Sept. 14 — Cypress Grove Intermediate School in College Station; Johnson, Navarro and Sul Ross elementary schools and Allen Academy in Bryan.

• Sept. 16 —Branch and Mitchell elementary schools in Bryan.
