College Station school trustees Monday approved hiring Kerr Surveying to examine three pieces of property that eventually will house projects from the $67.4 million bond package approved by voters in May.
The 5-0 vote approved the $35,000 projected cost of the services, said Mike Ball, deputy superintendent for business and operations.
Trustees Tim Jones and Garland Watson did not attend the board's special meeting.
The company will survey 30 acres of land off Graham Road that the school board designated for the Creek View Elementary School, the district's seventh elementary campus.
Surveys also will be conducted at College Hills Elementary, which will be razed and rebuilt under the deal, and at the A&M Consolidated High School athletic facilities, which are slated for renovations, Ball said.
"We needed to get that process moving forward so we could continue with the planning work we're doing with our architects," Ball said.
