Bryan police search for 2 men after theft

Eagle staff report

Bryan police are searching for two men who witnesses said beat up a woman at Wal-Mart before stealing her purse and fleeing on foot.

The Saturday evening robbery began when the men approached a 58-year-old woman inside the Bryan Wal-Mart and punched her repeatedly in the face and head, police Sgt. David Johnson said. Witnesses said the men took her purse and escaped through the store’s garden area.

The woman was treated at St. Joseph Regional Health Center and released, Johnson said.

Witnesses only described the attackers as black males, Johnson said. They were last seen running through the store’s parking lot.
