Applications now are available for the Chamber of Commerce's 25th annual Leadership Brazos class.
The nine-month class consists of monthly meetings that allow participants to experience hands-on introductions to aspects of the community, including the local economy, state and local governments, arts and communications, criminal justice and more, said Dena Gaskin, the chamber's manager of community enhancement.
"The biggest benefit [of the class] for business people is networking with other people in the class and gaining an intimate knowledge of the community," Gaskin said. "It's a good idea whether you're new to the community or you've been here yourr entire life."
The cost of the class is $750 for Chamber of Commerce members and $850 for nonmembers. Applications will be available until the end of July; the process is competitive, with only 36 applications accepted, Gaskin said.
Applications can be downloaded from the Chamber of Commerce Web site at www.bcschamber.org or requested by calling Gaskin at 260-5200.
